This chapter provides United States assistance for global development through the Millennium Challenge Corporation. It states that the assistance is to promote economic growth and eliminate extreme poverty. It also states that the assistance is to strengthen good governance, economic freedom, and investments in people.
This chapter has two purposes.
(1) It provides United States assistance for global development through the Millennium Challenge Corporation*. Section 7703 of this title describes this Corporation in more detail.
(2) It provides that assistance in a way that promotes economic growth, works to eliminate extreme poverty, and strengthens good governance, economic freedom, and investment in people.
The purposes of this chapter are—
to provide United States assistance for global development through the Millennium Challenge Corporation*, as described in section 7703 of this title; and
to provide such assistance in a manner that promotes economic growth and the elimination of extreme poverty and strengthens good governance, economic freedom, and investments in people.
