25 U.S.C. § 304 — South Dakota Indians; State course of study

This section has no lettered subsections. It lets parents on South Dakota Indian reservations opt their children's schools into the State's curriculum standards. Starting July 1, 1950, the course of study taught in any school that the Bureau of Indian Affairs operates and maintains on an Indian reservation in the State of South Dakota must meet the minimum education requirements the State's department of public instruction sets for South Dakota's public schools. This only happens upon a majority decision of the parents of children enrolled in the school, voting at a meeting called for that purpose by the superintendent of the reservation.
