This section defines “agency,” “Indian tribe,” “Native Hawaiian organization,” and “tribal organization” for this chapter.
In this chapter: (1) “Agency” has the meaning given in 5 U.S.C. 551. (2) “Indian tribe” has the meaning given in 25 U.S.C. 5304. (3) “Native Hawaiian organization” means a nonprofit organization that serves Native Hawaiians, has Native Hawaiians in substantive and policymaking positions, and is recognized as expert in Native Hawaiian culture and heritage, including tourism. (4) “Tribal organization” has the meaning given in 25 U.S.C. 5304.
In this chapter:
The term “Indian tribe” has the meaning given the term in section 5304 of this title.
The term “Native Hawaiian organization” means a nonprofit organization—
that serves the interests of Native Hawaiians;
in which Native Hawaiians serve in substantive and policymaking positions; and
that is recognized for having expertise in Native Hawaiian culture and heritage, including tourism.
The term “tribal organization” has the meaning given the term in section 5304 of this title.
