Unless another law says otherwise, the Joint Committee may hire a Chief of Staff and set the pay. It may also hire and pay experts, clerks, and other assistants it thinks it needs.
This section gives the Joint Committee power over its own staff, unless some other law limits that power.
The Committee may appoint the Chief of Staff of the Joint Committee and decide that person's pay. It may also appoint and pay whatever experts, clerical workers, stenographers, and other assistants it believes it needs.
Except as otherwise provided by law, the Joint Committee shall have power to appoint and fix the compensation of the Chief of Staff of the Joint Committee and such experts and clerical, stenographic, and other assistants as it deems advisable.
