This section defines two words for this chapter. 'Function' means any duty, power, responsibility, authority, or discretion given to the President or another officer. 'Perform' and 'performance' can mean 'exercise.'
This section defines terms used throughout this chapter. The word "function" covers any duty, power, responsibility, authority, or discretion given to the President or to whichever other officer is involved. The words "perform" and "performance" may be read to mean "exercise."
As used in this chapter, the term “function” embraces any duty, power, responsibility, authority, or discretion vested in the President or other officer concerned, and the terms “perform” and “performance” may be construed to mean “exercise”.
