31 U.S.C. § 6104 — Catalog of Federal domestic assistance programs

The Administrator must publish an annual catalog of Federal domestic-assistance programs. The catalog must include specified system information, helpful applicant information, and an index; supplements and free copies may also be provided.
(a) The Administrator must prepare and publish a catalog of domestic assistance programs each year. (b) In the Administrator’s chosen format, it must contain (1)(A) all substantive information then in the system under section 6102(a)(1), (2), (5), (6), and (7), (B) suitable portions or summaries of information then in the system under section 6102(a)(3) and (4), (2) information the Administrator believes may help an applicant or beneficiary, and (3) a detailed index. (c) When necessary, the Administrator must publish catalog supplements and specialized compilations organized by function. (d) The Administrator may distribute a catalog free to each member of Congress; each United States department, agency, or instrumentality; each State; each general-purpose local-government unit; each federally recognized Indian tribe; each Government-publications depository library; and each depository designated by the Administrator.
The Administrator shall prepare and publish each year a catalog of domestic assistance programs.
In a form selected by the Administrator, the catalog shall contain—
all substantive information on domestic assistance programs that, at the time the catalog is prepared, is in the system under paragraphs (1), (2), (5), (6), and (7) of section 6102(a) of this title; and
such portions or summaries, as the Administrator considers appropriate, of the information on domestic assistance programs that, at the time the catalog is prepared, is in the system under paragraphs (3) and (4) of section 6102(a) of this title;
information the Administrator decides may be helpful to a potential applicant for or beneficiary of assistance; and
a detailed index.
When the Administrator decides it is necessary, the Administrator shall prepare and publish—
supplements to the catalog; and
specialized compilations by function of information in the catalog.
The Administrator may distribute a catalog without cost to each—
member of Congress;
department, agency, and instrumentality of the United States Government;
State;
general purpose unit of a local government;
Indian tribe recognized by the United States Government;
depository library of Government publications; and
depository designated by the Administrator.
