Three title 37 provisions that apply to the Armed Forces also apply to NOAA’s commissioned officer corps. They concern housing allowances after an active-duty death, initial uniforms, and recruiting expenses.
The title 37 rules applicable to the Armed Forces under (1) section 403(l), temporary continuation of dependents’ housing allowance after a member dies on active duty*; (2) section 415, initial uniform allowances; and (3) section 488, recruiting-expense allowances, also apply to the Administration’s commissioned officer* corps.
The provisions of law applicable to the Armed Forces under the following provisions of title 37 shall apply to the commissioned officer* corps of the Administration*:
Section 403(l), relating to temporary continuation of housing allowance for dependents of members dying on active duty*.
Section 415, relating to initial uniform allowances.
Section 488, relating to allowances for recruiting expenses.
