33 U.S.C. § 467e — Interagency Committee on Dam Safety

(a) Establishment: This section creates the Interagency Committee on Dam Safety (ICODS). (1) It includes one representative each from the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy, the Department of the Interior, the Department of Labor, FEMA, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Tennessee Valley Authority, and the United States Section of the International Boundary Commission. (2) The Administrator (of FEMA) chairs it. (b) Duties: ICODS must encourage federal agencies to set up and maintain effective programs, policies, and guidelines that improve dam safety and protect human life and property. It does this by coordinating and sharing information among federal agencies about how they are carrying out the Federal Guidelines for Dam Safety.
