34 U.S.C. § 40903 — Definitions

This section defines three terms. 'Court order' means the kind described in federal gun law section 922(g)(8). The other terms borrow their meanings from related sections of that same law.
(1) Court order
"Court order" means a court order as described in section 922(g)(8) of title 18.
(2) Mental health terms
"Adjudicated as a mental defective" and "committed to a mental institution" mean the same thing they mean in section 922(g)(4) of title 18.
(3) Misdemeanor crime of domestic violence
This term has the meaning given in section 921(a)(33) of title 18.
As used in this chapter, the following definitions shall apply:
The term “court order” includes a court order (as described in section 922(g)(8) of title 18).
The terms “adjudicated as a mental defective” and “committed to a mental institution” have the same meanings as in section 922(g)(4) of title 18.
The term “misdemeanor crime of domestic violence” has the meaning given the term in section 921(a)(33) of title 18.
