The President can order the Secretary of Agriculture to help the Patent Office with plant patents. This help can include sharing information, doing special research, or lending staff to the Director.
This section lets the President issue an Executive Order directing the Secretary of Agriculture to help carry out this title's rules for plant patents. The Secretary must act on requests from the Director.
That help can take three forms: (1) giving the Director information the Department of Agriculture already has available; (2) having the right bureau or division in the Department research special problems; or (3) lending Department officers and employees to the Director.
The President may by Executive order direct the Secretary of Agriculture, in accordance with the requests of the Director, for the purpose of carrying into effect the provisions of this title with respect to plants (1) to furnish available information of the Department of Agriculture, (2) to conduct through the appropriate bureau or division of the Department research upon special problems, or (3) to detail to the Director officers and employees of the Department.
