This section protects more favorable rights and benefits from being reduced by this chapter. It overrides laws, agreements, and practices that reduce or eliminate rights or add prerequisites under the chapter.
(a) This chapter does not replace, cancel, or reduce a Federal or State* law, local ordinance, contract, agreement, policy, plan, practice, or other matter that gives a person a more beneficial right or benefit*, or an additional right or benefit.
(b) This chapter overrides a State or local law, contract, agreement, policy, plan, practice, or other matter that reduces, limits, or eliminates a right or benefit provided here, including one that adds requirements before the person may exercise the right or receive the benefit.
Nothing in this chapter shall supersede, nullify or diminish any Federal or State* law (including any local law or ordinance), contract, agreement, policy, plan, practice, or other matter that establishes a right or benefit* that is more beneficial to, or is in addition to, a right or benefit provided for such person in this chapter.
This chapter supersedes any State law (including any local law or ordinance), contract, agreement, policy, plan, practice, or other matter that reduces, limits, or eliminates in any manner any right or benefit provided by this chapter, including the establishment of additional prerequisites to the exercise of any such right or the receipt of any such benefit.
