38 U.S.C. § 8525 — Court actions

The Secretary's lawyers may sue to recover Fund assets if needed. Legal costs for these suits are paid as regular Department expenses.
If needed to get these assets, the Secretary* — through the Secretary's authorized attorneys — may bring and pursue lawsuits or other legal proceedings. The costs of doing so get paid like any other administrative expense of the Department*.
If necessary to obtain such assets the Secretary*, through the Secretary’s authorized attorneys, may bring and prosecute appropriate actions at law or other legal proceedings, the costs and expenses thereof to be paid as are other administrative expenses of the Department*.
