The General Services Administration may dispose of surplus property and care for it while awaiting disposal. The Administrator of General Services may instead choose the agency possessing the property or another agreeing executive agency.
The General Services Administration may dispose of surplus property and care for and handle it before disposal. If the Administrator of General Services decides, the executive agency possessing the property may do these tasks, or another executive agency that agrees may do them.
The disposal of surplus property, and the care and handling of the property pending disposition, may be performed by the General Services Administration or, when the Administrator of General Services decides, by the executive agency in possession of the property or by any other executive agency that agrees.
