A federal agency head may donate a federal law-enforcement canine no longer needed officially to a person experienced in handling such canines.
The head of a federal agency that controls a canine used in federal law-enforcement work may donate it to a person experienced in handling canines for that work if the agency has decided the canine is no longer needed for official purposes.
The head of a federal agency having control of a canine that has been used by a federal agency in the performance of law enforcement duties and that has been determined by the agency to be no longer needed for official purposes may donate the canine to an individual who has experience handling canines in the performance of those duties.
