Rules under this part must follow the Board's minimum guidelines. The Board is the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board.
This section is short. It has no lettered subsections.
Regulations that put this subpart into effect must set accessibility standards. Those standards must match the minimum guidelines from the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board. The Board issues its guidelines under section 12204(a) of this title.
In plain terms: whoever writes the detailed accessibility rules for rail transportation must follow the Board's baseline requirements. They cannot set weaker standards than the Board's minimum guidelines.
Accessibility standards included in regulations issued under this subpart shall be consistent with the minimum guidelines issued by the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board under section 12204(a) of this title.
