42 U.S.C. § 12651e — Officers

(a) Managing Directors (1) The Corporation has 2 Managing Directors. The President appoints them, and they report to the Chief Executive Officer. (2) They are paid at the rate set for Level IV of the Executive Schedule. (3) The Corporation decides which programs each Managing Director oversees and sets up the divisions they will lead. (b) Inspector General (1) The Corporation has an Office of the Inspector General. (2) An Inspector General leads that office, appointed the way title 5, chapter 4 requires. (c) Chief Financial Officer (1) The Corporation has a Chief Financial Officer, appointed by the Chief Executive Officer under section 12651f. (2) This officer must: (A) report directly to the CEO on financial matters; (B) oversee all of the Corporation's financial management work; (C) build and maintain an integrated accounting and financial system, including reporting and internal controls; (D) build and maintain any joint financial systems needed with the Department of Education; and (E) direct, manage, and set policy for the Corporation's financial staff and operations. (d) Assistant Directors for VISTA and National Senior Service Corps (1) One of the Managing Directors must appoint 4 Assistant Directors, who report to that Managing Director. One Assistant Director runs the VISTA program and other antipoverty programs under Title I of the Domestic Volunteer Service Act. One runs the Retired Senior Volunteer Program under Title II Part A. One runs the Foster Grandparent Program under Title II Part B. One runs the Senior Companion Program under Title II Part C. (2) Each of these Assistant Directors can only use this authority once a specific provision of the 1993 National and Community Service Trust Act takes effect.
