42 U.S.C. § 12854 — Definitions

For this subchapter, these terms mean: (1) Board of Directors: the Board of Directors of the National Homeownership Trust under section 12851(b). (2) Displaced homemaker: an individual who (A) is an adult, (B) has not worked full-time, full-year in the paid labor force for a number of years, but worked mostly without pay caring for a home and family during those years, and (C) is unemployed or underemployed and having trouble finding or improving employment. (3) Fund: the National Homeownership Trust Fund set up in section 12853. (4) Single parent: an individual who (A) is unmarried or legally separated from a spouse, and (B) either (i) has one or more minor children in their custody or joint custody, or (ii) is pregnant. (5) State: the states of the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands, and any other U.S. territory or possession. (6) Trust: the National Homeownership Trust established in section 12851.
