42 U.S.C. § 13214 — Federal agency promotion, education, and coordination

(a) Promotion and education: The Secretary, working with the Administrator of General Services, must promote programs and educate federal officials and employees on the benefits of alternative fueled vehicles. The Secretary must share information with federal agencies on (1) where refueling and maintenance facilities are for the federal alternative fueled fleet; (2) how far and how well alternative fueled vehicles perform; (3) state, local, and commercial alternative fueled vehicle programs; (4) which alternative fueled vehicles the federal government has bought and where they are placed; (5) how to operate and maintain alternative fueled vehicles per the manufacturer's instructions; and (6) incentive programs set up under sections 13215 and 13216. (b) Assistance in procurement and placement: The Secretary, working with the Administrator of General Services, must give agencies guidance, coordination, and technical help in buying and placing alternative fueled vehicles bought through the Administrator of General Services. That buying and placement must follow section 13212's purchase requirements.
