Beginning May 10, 1939, administrative-expense funds of the United States Housing Authority may pay specified travel and daily living expenses for uncompensated advisers serving away from home. The Administrator must specifically authorize the payments.
Beginning May 10, 1939, funds available for administrative expenses of the United States Housing Authority may pay, when the Administrator* specifically authorizes it, actual transportation expenses and no more than $10 per day instead of subsistence and other expenses. The payments may go to people who, while away from home, serve the Authority in an advisory role without other compensation from the United States.
On and after May 10, 1939, the funds made available for administrative expenses of the United States Housing Authority shall be available for the payment, when specifically authorized by the Administrator*, of actual transportation expenses and not to exceed $10 per diem in lieu of subsistence and other expenses to persons serving, while away from their homes, without other compensation from the United States, in an advisory capacity to the Authority.
