This subchapter does not remove liabilities, duties, penalties, or punishments under State or local law. The exception is a law that requires or allows conduct that would be an unlawful employment practice under this subchapter.
Nothing in this subchapter exempts or relieves a person* from any liability, duty, penalty, or punishment under a current or future law of a State* or political subdivision. The exception is a law that claims to require or permit an act that would be an unlawful employment practice under this subchapter.
Nothing in this subchapter shall be deemed to exempt or relieve any person* from any liability, duty, penalty, or punishment provided by any present or future law of any State* or political subdivision of a State, other than any such law which purports to require or permit the doing of any act which would be an unlawful employment practice under this subchapter.
