The Institute's Director must expand research on juvenile arthritis and related conditions. The Director works with the Director of the Allergy and Infectious Diseases Institute on this. Both Directors must coordinate their programs and consult the Arthritis Interagency Coordinating Committee.
(a) Expansion and coordination of activities: The Director* of the Institute, working with the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, must expand and intensify both Institutes' research and related activities on juvenile arthritis and related conditions.
(b) Coordination: The two Directors must jointly coordinate these programs together, and consult with the Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases Interagency Coordinating Committee.
The Director* of the Institute, in coordination with the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, shall expand and intensify the programs of such Institutes with respect to research and related activities concerning juvenile arthritis and related conditions.
The Directors referred to in subsection (a) shall jointly coordinate the programs referred to in such subsection and consult with the Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases Interagency Coordinating Committee.
