The Secretary must run a Public Health Service program offering voluntary testing, diagnosis, counseling, and treatment for genetic diseases. Anyone can request these services through Service facilities. The program must publicize that these services exist and are voluntary.
This section requires the Secretary* to set up a program within the Public Health Service* that offers voluntary testing, diagnosis, counseling, and treatment* for genetic diseases. People who ask for these services can get them through Service facilities. The program must also properly publicize that these services are available and that using them is voluntary.
The Secretary* shall establish a program within the Service* to provide voluntary testing, diagnosis, counseling, and treatment* of individuals respecting genetic diseases. Services under such program shall be made available through facilities of the Service to persons requesting such services, and the program shall provide appropriate publicity of the availability and voluntary nature of such services.
