42 U.S.C. § 300jj–37 — General grant and loan provisions

(a) Reports: The Secretary may require any entity that gets assistance under this part to send a report no later than 1 year after receiving the assistance. That report must include (1) an analysis of whether the funded activities worked, measured against the entity's own goals, and (2) an analysis of the project's effect on health care quality and safety. (b) Requirement to improve quality of care and decrease in costs: Each year, the National Coordinator must evaluate all activities carried out under this part. The National Coordinator must then use what it learns from that evaluation when awarding future grants — picking awards it believes will bring the biggest improvement in health care quality and efficiency.
