42 U.S.C. § 3175 — Assistance to parts of economic development districts not in eligible areas

The Secretary may provide chapter assistance for a project in an otherwise ineligible part of an economic development district. The project must substantially and directly benefit an eligible area in that district.
Notwithstanding section 3161, the Secretary* may provide chapter assistance for a project* in a part of an economic development district* outside an area described in section 3161(a), if the project will substantially and directly benefit an area described there that is in the district.
Notwithstanding section 3161 of this title, the Secretary* may provide such assistance as is available under this chapter for a project* in a part of an economic development district* that is not in an area described in section 3161(a) of this title, if the project will be of a substantial direct benefit to an area described in section 3161(a) of this title that is located in the district.
