42 U.S.C. § 3232 — Authorization of appropriations for defense conversion activities

Congress authorizes whatever funds are needed for specified defense-conversion activities, and those funds remain available until spent. They may include pilot projects to privatize and economically develop closed or realigned military and Energy Department installations.
(a) In general. In addition to the amounts provided under section 3231, Congress authorizes appropriations of whatever sums are necessary to carry out section 3149(c)(1). Those sums remain available until spent.
(b) Pilot projects. The funds may be used for activities including pilot projects to privatize closed or realigned military or Department* of Energy installations and for economic-development activities concerning them.
In addition to amounts made available under section 3231 of this title, there are authorized to be appropriated such sums as are necessary to carry out section 3149(c)(1) of this title, to remain available until expended.
Funds made available under subsection (a) may be used for activities including pilot projects for privatization of, and economic development activities for, closed or realigned military or Department* of Energy installations.
