This section covers senior positions. It states the rules and conditions that apply.
In addition to those positions created by subchapter II of this chapter, there must be within the Department fourteen additional officers in positions authorized by section 5316 of title 5 who must be appointed by the Secretary* and who must perform that functions as the Secretary must prescribe from time to time.
