This section lets witnesses at land office hearings collect one day's fee and mileage in advance, matching what nearby federal district courts pay. Witnesses can also collect their daily fee in advance each day during a hearing.
This section is not split into lettered parts. Witnesses have the right to receive, in advance, their fee for one day's attendance and their mileage. That fee and mileage amount matches whatever the federal district court in the same district pays. During a hearing, a witness is also entitled to collect their daily attendance fee in advance, day by day.
Witnesses shall have the right to receive their fee for one day’s attendance and mileage in advance. The fees and mileage of witnesses shall be the same as that provided by law in the district courts of the United States in the district in which such land offices are situated; and the witness shall be entitled to receive his fee for attendance in advance from day to day during the hearing.
