43 U.S.C. § 446 — Right to make entry on relinquishment of former entry under land laws

This law lets someone make a new land entry after giving up an earlier one. It applies when the Interior Secretary takes back land under a reclamation project. The new entry is treated as if the earlier one never happened.
Sometimes the Secretary of the Interior, while carrying out the reclamation law, gets back land through a relinquishment -- meaning the person who filed a not-yet-perfected entry on that land under the land laws of the United States gives it up.
When that happens, the same person (the "entryman") can make another, additional land entry. This new entry is treated as though the earlier, relinquished entry had never been made.
Wherever the Secretary of the Interior, in carrying out the provisions of the reclamation Act, shall acquire by relinquishment lands covered by a bona fide unperfected entry under the land laws of the United States, the entryman upon such tract may make another and additional entry, as though the entry thus relinquished had not been made.
