This law defines "Federal irrigation project" for this part of the U.S. Code, and says this whole subchapter is meant to add on to the existing federal reclamation laws.
In this subchapter, "Federal irrigation project" means any irrigation project covered by the federal reclamation laws (the Act of June 17, 1902, and later acts that amended or added to it). This subchapter itself is meant to be treated as a supplement to those laws.
As used in this subchapter, the term “Federal irrigation project” means any irrigation project subject to the Federal reclamation laws (Act of June 17, 1902, 32 Stat. 388, and Acts amendatory thereof or supplementary thereto), to which laws this subchapter itself shall be deemed a supplement.
