43 U.S.C. § 641b — Filing of application for quitclaim deeds

A State must apply within a fixed period before the Secretary may issue it the quitclaim deeds or patents described in section 641a. The deadline is three years after August 13, 1954.
The Secretary may not issue those quitclaim deeds or patents to a State unless the State files a proper application to transfer the lands within three years after August 13, 1954.
The Secretary shall not issue such quitclaim deeds or patents to any State, however, unless that State files a proper application for the transfer of these lands within three years after August 13, 1954.
