This is a standard severability clause. If a court strikes down any part of this subchapter, or its application to a particular person or situation, the rest of the subchapter — and its application to everyone else — still stands.
This section is a single undivided provision.
If any part of this subchapter, or the way it applies to some person* or situation, is ever held invalid by a court, that does not affect the rest of the subchapter, or the way that same provision applies to other people or situations. Each part of the law stands on its own.
If any provision of this subchapter, or the application thereof to any person* or circumstance, should be held invalid, the remainder of such subchapter, or the application of such provision to other persons or circumstances, shall not be affected thereby.
