A charter under this chapter must let the Secretary end it without cost during a declared national emergency. The Secretary gives the charterer whatever notice the President decides is appropriate.
A charter under this chapter must state* that, during a national emergency the President has proclaimed, or during a period when the President has proclaimed that national-defense security makes it advisable, the Secretary of Transportation may end the charter without any cost to the United States Government. The Secretary must give the charterer notice, but only as much notice as the President decides is required.
A charter under this chapter shall provide that during a national emergency proclaimed by the President or a period for which the President has proclaimed that the security of the national defense makes it advisable, the Secretary of Transportation may terminate the charter without cost to the United States Government on such notice to the charterer as the President determines.
