This section defines the Commission and requires broadband providers to supply requested information for specified data collections. It sets the minimum notice for the first broadband DATA filing deadline.
(a) Definition. “Commission” means the Federal Communications Commission.
(b) Provision of information. A broadband provider must give the Commission information in whatever format, type, or specification the Commission requests when needed to add to the Commission’s data collection under title VIII of the Communications Act of 1934 [47 U.S.C. 641 et seq.] or the Form 477 data-collection program.
(c) Notice of initial filing deadline. (1) The Commission must notify broadband providers no later than 60 days before the first deadline for submitting data under section 802(a)(1)(A) of the Communications Act of 1934 [47 U.S.C. 642(a)(1)(A)]. (2) Even if the Commission previously decided otherwise, it does not have to give notice six months before that first deadline.
In this section, the term “Commission” means the Federal Communications Commission.
A broadband provider shall provide the Commission with any information, in the format, type, or specification requested by the Commission, necessary to augment the collection of data by the Commission under—
title VIII of the Communications Act of 1934 (47 U.S.C. 641 et seq.); or
the Form 477 data collection program.
The Commission—
shall provide notice to broadband providers not later than 60 days before the initial deadline for submission of data under section 802(a)(1)(A) of the Communications Act of 1934 (47 U.S.C. 642(a)(1)(A)); and
notwithstanding any prior decision of the Commission to the contrary, shall not be required to provide notice not later than 6 months before the initial deadline described in paragraph (1).
