48 U.S.C. § 1494a — Annual reports to Congress

(a) In general. Each year the President must report to Congress on federal agencies’ efforts and success in preventing controlled substances from illegally entering the United States from insular areas outside the customs territory, the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands, and states freely associated with the United States, and must describe the nature and extent of that entry. The report must also cover efforts and success in preventing controlled substances from other nations, including freely associated states, from illegally entering United States territories, the Trust Territory, and commonwealths for use there or shipment to the United States, and must describe the nature and extent of that entry and use.
(b) Transmission date. By October 1 each year, the report must be sent to the House Natural Resources Committee and the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
