49 U.S.C. § 15902 — Enforcement by the Board

The Board can sue in court to enforce its own orders against a pipeline carrier that breaks them. This power does not cover orders requiring a carrier to pay money.
This section lets the Board* go to court when a pipeline carrier* disobeys one of the Board's orders. The Board can bring a civil action — a lawsuit — to force the carrier to follow that order. There is one exception: if the order requires the carrier to pay money, the Board cannot use this power to enforce it. This rule applies only to pipeline carriers providing transportation* covered by this part of the law.
The Board* may bring a civil action to enforce an order of the Board, except a civil action to enforce an order for the payment of money, when it is violated by a pipeline carrier* providing transportation* subject to this part.
