This chapter exists to cut the money lost when cars get damaged in accidents. It does this by setting and enforcing bumper standards for passenger vehicles.
This chapter's goal is to reduce the financial losses that happen when passenger motor vehicles get damaged in motor vehicle accidents. Congress does this by creating and enforcing bumper standards — rules for how well a car's bumpers must protect it in a crash.
The purpose of this chapter is to reduce economic loss resulting from damage to passenger motor vehicles involved in motor vehicle accidents by providing for the maintenance and enforcement of bumper standards.
