49 U.S.C. § 41503 — Establishing joint prices for through routes provided by State authorized carriers

A U.S. citizen providing certain intrastate transportation can agree with an air carrier or foreign air carrier on a joint price for combined service. That joint price must be the lowest of three options: the sum of each leg's own approved price, a price filed under section 41504, or a price the Secretary of Transportation sets under section 41507.
Subject to sections 41309 and 42111, a U.S. citizen who provides transportation under section 41101(b) may agree with an air carrier or foreign air carrier on a joint price for that combined transportation. The agreed joint price must be the lowest of: (1) the sum of the approved price for the part of the trip within the state, plus the price for the part flown by the air carrier or foreign air carrier; (2) a joint price already established and filed under section 41504; or (3) a joint price the Secretary of Transportation sets under section 41507.
Subject to sections 41309 and 42111 of this title, a citizen of the United States providing transportation under section 41101(b) of this title may make an agreement with an air carrier or foreign air carrier for joint prices for that transportation. The joint prices agreed to must be the lowest of—
the sum of the applicable prices for—
the part of the transportation provided in the State and approved by the appropriate State authority; and
the part of the transportation provided by the air carrier or foreign air carrier;
a joint price established and filed under section 41504 of this title; or
a joint price prescribed by the Secretary of Transportation under section 41507 of this title.
