This section defines "controlled substance" for the alcohol- and drug-testing chapter that follows. It means any substance the FAA Administrator specifies under a 1970 federal drug-control law. The definition applies throughout this chapter.
In this chapter, "controlled substance" means any substance covered by section 102 of the Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act of 1970, that the FAA Administrator has specified.
In this chapter, “controlled substance” means any substance under section 102 of the Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act of 1970 (21 U.S.C. 802) specified by the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration.
