Congress says that other countries should help reduce stockpiles of weapons-grade nuclear material. It urges the Secretary of State to encourage purchases of low-enriched uranium made from Russian weapons material.
(a) Congress expresses that United States allies and other nations should participate in efforts to reduce stockpiles of weapons-grade nuclear material.
(b) Congress urges the Secretary of State, after consulting the Energy Secretary, to encourage other countries to buy low-enriched uranium derived from highly enriched uranium* taken from Russian nuclear weapons.
It is the sense of Congress that the allies of the United States and other nations should participate in efforts to ensure that stockpiles of weapons-grade nuclear material are reduced.
Congress urges the Secretary of State to encourage, in consultation with the Secretary of Energy, other countries to purchase low-enriched uranium that is derived from highly enriched uranium* extracted from Russian nuclear weapons.
