50 U.S.C. § 3998 — Land rights of servicemembers

(a) No age limitations. A servicemember under 21 who is in military service is entitled to the same rights under laws about land owned or controlled by the United States, including mining and mineral-leasing laws, as a servicemember who is 21 or older. (b) Residency requirement. A deadline requiring a residence to be established within a limited time is suspended for an entry by a servicemember in military service or that servicemember’s spouse until 180 days after military service ends or the servicemember is released. (c) Entry applications. An entry application may be verified before a person authorized to administer oaths under 10 U.S.C. § 1044a or under the law of the State where the land is located.
