The Secretary can sell or dispose of timber in national park units under terms the Secretary sets. This is allowed only when cutting the timber is needed to fight insect or disease attacks, or to protect the scenery or natural and historic objects there.
The Secretary* may sell or dispose of timber, on terms and conditions the Secretary fixes. This is only allowed when, in the Secretary's judgment, cutting the timber is needed either to control insect or disease attacks, or to otherwise protect the scenery or the natural or historic objects within a System unit*.
The Secretary*, on terms and conditions to be fixed by the Secretary, may sell or dispose of timber in cases where, in the judgment of the Secretary, the cutting of timber is required to control attacks of insects or diseases or otherwise conserve the scenery or the natural or historic objects in any System unit*.
