54 U.S.C. § 101336 — Contracts for the management of field employee quarters

If Congress provides funding first, the Secretary can sign contracts of any length to manage, repair, and maintain field employee housing. Each contract must protect the government's interests and keep needed housing available to workers.
As long as Congress has appropriated the necessary funds in advance, the Secretary* may enter into contracts for managing, repairing, and maintaining field employee* quarters*. These contracts can last any length of time. Each contract must include whatever terms and conditions the Secretary thinks are necessary or appropriate — both to protect the interests of the United States and to make sure needed quarters stay available to field employees.
Subject to the appropriation of necessary funds in advance, the Secretary* may enter into contracts of any duration for the management, repair, and maintenance of field employee* quarters*. The contract shall contain terms and conditions that the Secretary considers necessary or appropriate to protect the interests of the United States and ensure that necessary quarters are available to field employees.
