A contract for just transportation services inside a park can last up to 10 years total. That includes a 5-year base period plus up to 5 more years of yearly extensions, if the contractor performs well.
No matter what any other law says, a contract for providing only transportation services in a System unit* is limited to 10 years. This total is made up of a 5-year base period, plus up to 5 more years added through yearly extensions. Those extensions are only granted if the contractor performs satisfactorily and the Secretary* approves.
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a service* contract entered into by the Secretary* for the provision solely of transportation services in a System unit* shall be not more than 10 years in length, including a base period of 5 years and annual extensions for up to an additional 5 years based on satisfactory performance and approval by the Secretary.
