Concession contracts usually last 10 years or less. The Secretary can approve up to 20 years if the contract's terms, like required construction, justify the longer time.
A concession contract made under this subchapter is generally awarded for a term of 10 years or less. But the Secretary* may award a longer contract, up to 20 years, if the Secretary decides the contract's terms and conditions — including any required construction of capital improvements — justify that longer term.
A concession contract entered into pursuant to this subchapter shall generally be awarded for a term of 10 years or less. The Secretary* may award a contract for a term of up to 20 years if the Secretary determines that the contract terms and conditions, including the required construction of capital improvements, warrant a longer term.
