54 U.S.C. § 303903 — Preservation education and training program

The Secretary^*, working with the Advisory Council^* on Historic Preservation^* and other appropriate Federal, tribal, Native Hawaiian^*, and non-Federal organizations, must develop and run a full preservation^* education and training program. The program must include: (1) standards and more preservation training for Federal workers who do preservation-related work; (2) preservation training for other Federal, State^*, tribal, and local government^* workers, and for students; (3) technical or financial help, or both, to historically Black colleges and universities, tribal colleges, and colleges with many Native American or Native Hawaiian students, so they can build preservation training and degree programs; and (4) where it makes sense, coordination with the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training on (A) sharing information about preservation technologies, (B) providing training and skill-building in preservation-related trades, crafts, and disciplines through Federal training programs, and (C) supporting research, analysis, conservation, curation, interpretation, and display related to preservation.
