6 U.S.C. § 239 — Office of Cargo Security Policy

(a) Establishment: The Office of Cargo Security Policy is created inside the Department. (b) Purpose: The Office must coordinate every Department policy relating to cargo security, and must consult with stakeholders and coordinate with other federal agencies in setting standards, regulations, and best practices. (c) Director: The Office is headed by a Director, appointed by the Secretary, who reports to the Assistant Secretary for Policy. The Director must advise the Assistant Secretary for Policy on developing Department-wide cargo security policy, coordinate all cargo security policies among the Department's own agencies and offices, and coordinate the Department's cargo security policies with those of other executive agencies.
