People transporting agricultural or vegetable seeds in interstate commerce must keep specified lot records for three years. The Secretary of Agriculture or authorized agents may inspect those records to administer this chapter.
Anyone transporting or delivering agricultural seed for interstate transportation must keep, for three years, a complete record of each lot’s origin*, treatment, germination*, and purity. Anyone transporting or delivering vegetable seed must keep, for three years, a complete record of its treatment, germination, and variety*. The Secretary of Agriculture or an authorized agent may inspect these records to administer this chapter effectively.
All persons transporting, or delivering for transportation, in interstate commerce*, agricultural seeds shall keep for a period of three years a complete record of origin*, treatment, germination*, and purity of each lot of such agricultural seeds, and all persons transporting, or delivering for transportation, in interstate commerce, vegetable seeds shall keep for a period of three years a complete record of treatment, germination and variety* of such vegetable seeds. The Secretary of Agriculture, or his duly authorized agents, shall have the right to inspect such records for the purpose of the effective administration of this chapter.
