7 U.S.C. § 1622b — Specialty crops market news allocation

The Secretary must provide timely U.S. price and shipment information for specialty crops and use specified funds to increase reporting. Congress authorized $9 million per year for fiscal years 2008 through 2023.
(a) The Secretary must (1) carry out market-news activities that provide timely U.S. price and shipment information about specialty crops; and (2) use the funds under (b) to increase specialty-crop reporting levels in effect on the date this Act was enacted.
(b) In addition to other annual market-news appropriations, Congress authorized $9,000,000 for each fiscal year from 2008 through 2023. The money remains available until spent.
The Secretary shall—
carry out market news activities to provide timely price and shipment information of specialty crops in the United States; and
use funds made available under subsection (b) to increase the reporting levels for specialty crops in effect on the date of enactment of this Act.
In addition to any other funds made available through annual appropriations for market news services, there is authorized to be appropriated to carry out this section $9,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2008 through 2023, to remain available until expended.
