This section prevents States and their subdivisions from imposing additional or conflicting livestock and livestock-product price or quantity reporting requirements.
To achieve this chapter’s goals nationwide and avoid conflicting state* laws that could interfere with them, a State or its political subdivision may not impose a requirement about submitting or reporting information, or publishing information, on livestock* or livestock-product prices or quantities if that requirement adds to or conflicts with a requirement of this subchapter.
In order to achieve the goals, purposes, and objectives of this chapter on a nationwide basis and to avoid potentially conflicting State* laws that could impede the goals, purposes, or objectives of this chapter, no State or political subdivision of a State may impose a requirement that is in addition to, or inconsistent with, any requirement of this subchapter with respect to the submission or reporting of information, or the publication of such information, on the prices and quantities of livestock* or livestock products.
