This section provides for the Department of Agriculture’s seal. It assigns responsibility for prescribing and using the seal.
The Secretary of Agriculture may and must obtain a proper seal, with inscriptions and designs the Secretary approves, called the official seal of the Department of Agriculture. The Secretary must keep and use it to verify official documents under rules and regulations the Secretary prescribes.
The Secretary of Agriculture is authorized and directed to procure a proper seal, with such suitable inscriptions and devices as he may approve, to be known as the official seal of the Department of Agriculture, and to be kept and used to verify official documents, under such rules and regulations as he may prescribe.
